Va Va Voom

Good Afternoon everyone, another dark, cloudy, raining day.  Just GREAT for crafting LOL.

A card for a friends daughter was needed, she was 20 on Christmas Eve. She wants her own personalised number plate, so I went and did one for her LOL.

The car was a drawing of a Clio (her car) downloaded from the web, which I coloured in PS to match the girl and elements from Julie C Designs Friends Forever kit, the girl looks just like my friends daughter, she has flowing red hair too and long legs.  I added the Va Va Voom cut on my Cricut, as it was in the old advert of the Clio on TV, hoped she liked it.

I shall enter the following challenges with this card

My New Year resolution is that, I will continue to enter challenges this year even though my style is not as clever as the fabulous cards that also enter.

Computer easel card

Hope you ALL had a lovely Christmas.

One of our IT men was leaving, he is the main man for our 'puter system, so don't know what we will do without him.  I thought a card would perhaps show him we did care about him leaving, so this is what I made.

I downloaded a clear 'puter screen keyboard and mouse, I then looked for some computer language to put on the screen adding "new job". I made an easel card, put the empty screen inside and made a fault message on the screen, added a verse 3D'd the keyboard and mouse.  The mouse meant the card 8 x 8 was then too big for the envelope aarrgghh! so I made an envelope to match the background paper, that took longer than the card, as I had to get the measurements right. I'm glad to say it was well received.

A Wedding card

A quick post for you today -

Another request, VERY unusual I think, she wanted angels on a wedding card for a couple who loved anything to do with angels.  SO after trawling through everything I had and numerous images on the web, I came across this beautiful image that fitted it all so well.  I added a bouquet by Sky’s the Limit Scraps.and used one of the flowers to go in her hair and on the floor.   The quote was from one of the quote sites, but I forgotten which one.  I coloured the image in PS added a banner a digi download, but I didn't save who by!!!!  I made a box and lined it with white paper.  oh! yes and I 3D'd the image and bouquet

male card

HI again, can you believe it 2 days running I have a post, hope I can keep it up, at least all cards are done for this side of Christmas, just start with January birthdays now LOL.

I was asked to do a Santa 70th birthday card for one of the girls in work, who's father is going to be a Santa, she wanted a Santa but not Christmassy! then I saw this kit by A-Manda Creations from Digital Scrapbooking Studio which fitted the bill, love the suntanned Santa and the little reindeer LOL.  The Welsh translation is Dad & Grandfather - Happy Birthday. The Santa is decoupaged so is the tree and reindeer.  I thought the kit would have been used as a one off, but I have used this kit for quite a few things, so money well spent.

With this card I am entering these challenges

I suppose the following card would do for 2 of the challenges too. LOL

I did this card for my nephew who was 18 last week, I wanted something to do with jeans and had girls jeans in a kit I bought years ago, but nothing with a boy, so I used Gina Jane from DAISIE denim pocket and added an action in PS of goldy stitching by Atomic Cupcake, which digi stitches any shape brilliantly.  I added a grey layer and also with an action from Atomic Cupcake, which made it look like fabric.  I thought about what he would have in his pocket and added a digi comb, a phone and a ticket to Swansea football match. I 3D'd the pocket and the inserts.  Quite a simple card, and I was surprised with his delighted reaction.

Baby's first Christmas

Hi everyone, hope your weather is not as bad as ours, it's rain, rain and more rain and very heavy and so dark too.

A late order for me but I did it in time LOL  I HAD to buy Mo Mannings First Christmas Girl, I could have used any number of digis I have, why do I have to buy more? probably 'cause she is gorgeous.  I clipped digi paper by SnickerdoodleDesigns to the dress and "painted" the rest all in PS.  I used paper also by SnickerdoodleDesigns for the background and then I wanted a Christmas paper to match and used KathyWinter Designs Frosty Fun kit. I then cut out snowflakes by BirdCards on my Cricut. and covered with a mass of Glamour dust, shame you can't pick it up it's lovely and glittery.

I shall enter this card into a challenge here

http://networkedblogs.com/GbLTM  favourite Mo's image  (the last one is always the favourite I find LOL)

I also had an order for a wedding card, I have blurred the names and date, but the venue for the wedding had to be included, so instead of writing it, I used an old photo of  it I found on the web.  The wedding is in December so I cut out 2 poinsettia and Christmas corner by BirdCards and added them to the printed card, added a pearl heart and a few smaller pearls lots of glitter and that's about it.

Christmas cards

I should have been a good blogger, but time has not been on my side, so will try and put things right this week and thereafter - hopefully.

A Xmas card was requested by a man in work, who always gets his wife's cards off me, He is very shy and I think I get him out of trouble LOL.  The Turtle Doves are a ready coloured image from Beccy HERE there is also a digital stamp in the next post, but I love this image.  The tree and ornaments and snowflakes are from Zestaw at NumbBumm. The background paper is from the kit Always and Forever by Digilicious Designs.  The font is Aphrodite Pro.  He was very pleased with this card, thankfully.

Now back to my makes for the fair, here is a fab lip balm holder I saw HERE and made a cut file of my own in Fairycuts, then cut them out on my Cricut.  The card is pink hammered and the paper is Berries by Pink Petticoat, the ribbon is from Fantastic Ribbons.  I copied the background colour to make the topper and used velcro to close it.

I'm back!

WOW! what a month 2 craft fairs, which I didn't know I was having until week before the first one, talk about busy, I'll make sure next time that I will know WELL in advance., before I agree, I just didn't think it through.  However I am glad to say I made all my money back and made some for the church and the department I work in, so success all around, AND just a couple of things left that can be stocking fillers. whoooppppeeeeee!.

Here's a picture of my table in our training room at the hospital.  I hadn't quite finished putting everything out, but do you notice my wonderful new card stand?

I have been doing some cards as well, here is one using a cut file by Krewella HERE  I had some neighbour cards to do in a flat spin, as I have been since the beginning of December, as I have told you,  so I used the tree file, I made three trees tried to put them on straight, I failed because I was rushing so much, so I added a line under them to simulate snow, cut them out on gold shiny card, from The Range and I am thrilled with how quickly after printing onto the card they came together, I was done in no time, voila so to speak.  Hope you like it.

Hope to keep you more up to date from now on, I have my pressies all wrapped and safe and just a couple more to buy, but at least I know what I want to buy.  All my cards are done and sent, just finish working my 2 days this week and one next week and it's Christmas.

80th birthday card

Hiya All, just a few words, so you know I am still at it, please accept apologies for hardly any comments, I've been busy getting ready for the craft show in work.  My boss thought that as there were a few "crafty" people in the Theatre Dept, wouldn't it be a good idea to all have a craft show!!!!!!!!. so as I didn't have much left from the first show, I have had to make masses more.  And there was me thinking I was going to sell what was left, oh! well.  AND I also have all my Xmas cards to do, that'll teach me to make them throughout the year, talk about panic argh!

Anyhow, a card to show you, I was asked to make an 80th birthday card for a "classy" lady.  I had this beautiful picture on my computer from where I do not know, I've had it such a long time, if anyone knows from where, let me know I can credit them.  The papers are Pink Petticoat.  The ribbon is from Fantastic ribbons, it matches the flower on the dress, terrible photo, anyone in the UK of late will know the problems of taking photos in the terrible weather we have been having.

That's all from me for now, but I will have lots to show you in future posts.

Hope you are all well.

First Craft fair tale

Hi everyone, well I expect you thought I had been sold at the craft fair too, no such luck sorry.

This is a picture heavy post, so please forgive me.

I had a whale of a day, from 10.30am until 5.30pm so many laughs.  Luckily I had gone to prepare, with others, my table the night before, because as soon as I got there I started selling, Which was a shock as it wasn't supposed to open until 2pm, but all the other stall holders were going around and buying early so they had a chance to buy as well.  I don't know if this is usual as I hadn't ever attended a craft fair with a table of my own.  I suppose it wasn't really what you call a "real" craft fair as it was for the church and held in the church too.  Plenty of really good home made goodies though.  I bought a jar of whiskey marmalade and cherry brandy Xmas pudding, and a couple of caramel toffee cakes, well I had to feed myself in the few hours there didn't I?

It started a week before, when I was asked if I would have a table, then luckily as I am only working 2 days a week, it meant 14 hour days and being fed and watered by my DH while I carried on making and making.  I made my last card at 10.30pm the night before, to replace the ones I sold on the Friday night, I had made some of the church.  I made another 18 with all the card I had left and sold them before 3pm, wish I had made many more, it would have made even more money for the church funds. However I was very pleased with what I had to give them afterwards.

I certainly came away far lighter and with less bags than going, thankfully, I hope to take them into work this week and raise more money this time for the department.

Enough of me waffling I hear you say, here are the piccies.  I didn't have chance to take any photos of the finished products, so had to take them in church., my excuse for the quality of the photos.  Hope you like them and that this post makes up for my absence, I have been busy making more cards, but they are for another post or 2.

I made a photo of the church into a drawing in PS.

Halloween

I love when the children come around dressed up for Halloween, but as it was pouring with rain with strong winds last night, we only had the little girl a couple of doors up and her friend, AND I was all prepared with wrappers around the mini chocolate bars. boo hoo, oh! well they'll come for next year perhaps, the wrappers I mean not the chocolate.

As I have no little ones around, I have borrowed my God-Daughter's daughter to make this layout.  I had the photo a little earlier today.  It seems that 12 year old Imogen, made herself up and dressed herself to be as scary as possible, I think she succeeded LOL.  She also carved the pumpin out, isn't it brilliant?

This is a digital page, I used the kit Little Witch by Carin Grobe at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.

Birthday card

Hi everyone, sorry haven't been around for a little while, we have had lovely visitors to stay,  but here I am with a quick post of a card I made on the weekend.

I was asked to make a card with a photo on the card, it's for the "baby's" 30th birthday.  I started by scanning the photo and adjusting the colours, they are better, but not quite "normal".  I then used digital papers Happy Birthday mini kit a freebie by Numb Bumm Designs HERE I'm afraid you will have to search for it, as I couldn't find the kit and didn't have time to search for longer.

I added the string, with the numbers added, from the same kit, then added the photo, I found some digi eyelets by Gina Jane at DAISIE, erased part of the string and added the eyelets so it looked like it was going through them.  I added the sentiment with Papyrus and One Starry Night fonts, I thought the starry font matched the curls of the string.  I printed it all out onto an 8 x 8 card. then printed the top half again on Cuddly Buddly eggshell paper to give it a bit of shine, I cut around the tags making them 3D, added Stickles to the dots and copied the flame from the number to make a border for the bottom of the card which was also Stickled.  Hope you all like it. It took ages to do, but I so enjoy playing with the effects in PS, to see what I can achieve, I'm learning more everyday.

Close up of the eyelets, also added to the photo. and "cut" string

Sweet Sixteen sillouette

Hello everyone, a beautiful morning has developed into a dull afternoon, looking like rain, at least our very strong wind has slowed today.  Hubby is cleaning the car, so thought I would come and show you my latest card.

I had a request from a friend for a card to send to the USA for a 16 year old "grown up, sophisticated clever girl", this meant no embellishments due to the postal charges.  I had a  few things in mind then was told it should be pinky! So I had a look through my massive amount of images and papers and put this together, I layered it all digitally, it's Silhouette by NumbBumm a fab kit.  I cut out the centre circle which is an element from moonlight oasis designs by jmdt. and the sentiment and added them to the front, not raised, again because of postage charges., I added some pink bling, ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons and cut out her name in black. I'm glad to say my friend was pleased, just hope the girl is :) She even said that the silhouette looks like the girl who's birthday it is, which is uncanny, but there, it is coming up to Halloween. LOL

EDITED 27/10/12 I have been asked for a link for the kit at NumbBumm it starts  HERE

Cheat card?

What a beautiful Sunday morning this is today, puffy white clouds in the blue skies, a breeze, enough to dry the clothes on the line, and the sun warm (as long as you are in it). We had our first frost of the season last night. I wonder if we are going to have a really cold winter again?

Anyway on to my "cheat" cards.  I was shopping in The Range a couple of weeks ago and saw these little bears by Me To You in a pick and mix box, I think they were 3 for a £1 and decided as I never buy things like this I would try them.  Then couldn't think what to do with them, until yesterday I decided I HAD to do something.  I followed a Clean and Simple Sketch for each one, 'cause I love it and added some digi papers and came up with these.  I suppose they are supposed to be quick cards, but it took time looking through my stash at digi papers to match them.  I am very pleased as to how they have come out though and may even buy a few more at some time.  The font on each one is Boring Showers.

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

I used digi papers Hello Sunshine by KLewis a freebie scrapbook kit on Facebook
The background digi paper on this is a freebie I had years ago, but I added yellow to the white stripe to match and the spot is by Summer Driggs flipflopsicles

The digi paper on this one is out of a kit Digitally Smitten from Digital Design Essentials by Gina Cabrera

I am going to add these to my DoCrafts gallery.

Fairy Wishes - second post today

Hope your weekend has been a peaceful one, as it has for us, at last!  The weather has been kind too.

I have used 2 digi stamps by Meljens Designs Flutterby Fairy and Meadow background for this card, aren't they both great? I paper pieced the butterfly in PS with Audrey Jean Roberts Winged Jewels collection digi paper.  I coloured the flowers of the meadow also in PS, printed out and then decoupaged the butterfly and fairy, I HAD to add Glamour Dust to the butterfly and fairy too. and added a little to the flowers. The font is Melanie BT, I have to say I love this little card, it doesn't need any embellishments as I think it holds it's own.  But there what do I know LOL.

 I shall enter this into

Love Tree

Here's a card I did for a challenge and an order, but didn't get around to entering it, time goes so quickly doesn't it? AND as Mr Mojo has gone walkabout, I'll post this card.  It's Love Tree a digi stamp from Sew Many Cards, in PS I paper pieced Summertime designs red digi paper into the heart shapes, printed it out and then tried embossing the hearts, I made a shape with a fine embossing tool around the hearts and then turned the card over and embossed the shape from the back,  I then 3D glossed them, which really made them stand out. I was quite pleased with the result, hope you can see it in the photos.

CAS CFC72

I saw this challenge and thought what an great idea.  I started out by looking for a quote on daffodils, not really the subject for this time of year, but I love them all year around, must be the Welsh in me LOL.  anyhow, found this lovely quote which I thought -

house - blog,
lit up - when you visit,
sun shining - when you leave.

At least that's what I hope.  I used a kit Daffodilday by Aimee Harrison at Digital Scrapbooking Studio to make my header, so used it again, of course, to make the card.  As you know I am a digi girl so the card is a digital put together, I have added Glamour Dust to the windows and the top daffodil of the paper, I think this represents my blog. I hope you think so too.

Sorry about the quality of the photos, I had to adjust them because I took them in awful light and by flash, - not a good idea, for some reason it has given it a pinkish hue!

This is the challenge

Cheers 007

Dismal day here today, not very warm, high winds and raining, perfect for crafting LOL.  I'm back in work tomorrow after 2 weeks holiday, if you count my days off before I started my hols, it will be 20 days, Oh! I LOVE part time work LOL.  2 days a week retirement, still got the social life and the "rest" in between, lubberly jubberly.

Here is a card I did with a freebie from Papercraft Inspirations, as far as I am concerned he's 007, "martini, shaken not stirred" I have cut the poor man in half, to get him into the circle, used a Freebie kit Unforgettable from Lynnie Smith at DAISIE, which had the red stitched frame in it., that I have had for years, I added digi brads group and acrylic frame circle from "ghoulies" by Dawn by Design at the DigiChick.  I cut out and 3D'd the frame and the sentiment. Added 3D gloss to the brads, quite simple, but I am pleased with it.  Especially the fab frame.  Shame of it was, that I didn't realise my God daughters husband was 40 duh! He was pleased with it anyway :)

I'm entering the following challenges.

A Strongman!

At last a card for you.  I was asked to make a card to include reference to a gym, and his name and age, this is what I came up with.  The digi stamp is The Strongman from Mo Manning, I coloured him in PS, the little chick is by ValCDesigns, the paper is Hello Sunshine by KLewis, I followed a sketch Publication1 Willow Designs.

I layered the layer of  and 3D'd the strongman (I just love him and his expression) and the age label, then added 3D Clear Gloss to the digi brads and button.  The font is CluffHmkBold.  Hope you like it.

I shall enter this card into the following challenges.

We have blue skies with heavy and very dark rain clouds but  really beautifully warm in the sunshine, with a strong breeze, I hope it helps the poor people who have been flooded this week.  Here are a couple of photos, to show you how blue the sky is underneath some of those heavy clouds. AND what it's like when they pass over us.
