Sassy Fire - woman!

Hi Everyone, my card for today is one I was asked to do, a birthday card for an Irish Firewoman! yikes! what do I do with that, so a trawl around the net and saw the perfect image to suit by Sassy Studio Designs which I coloured in PS,  I already had DP Irish papers by ETC by Danyale from 2 of her kits Blarneybliss and Slainte.

I made a fire engine from shapes in PS and copied them to my Cricut to cut them, I'm quite pleased with it too.  I used a default shape in PS for the shamrock I 3D'd it and the Firewoman, mounted the DP onto black card and then layered the rest voila - card.

Man with saw card

Hi everyone, hope you are all healthy, wealthy and wise LOL.

My card for today is for a man, the Digi is by Karen's Doodles, the DP are by Gina Cabrera.  I followed this sketch on Sunday Sketch & Stamp by Francesca.

Quite a simple card, I printed and placed the DP and coloured the Digi in PS. cut a saw on my Cricut, added a sentiment, that I seem to think I may have copied, not too sure about that, as it is in my brain so I could even have made it up!!!!!!!!!! and a little button.  It seemed right for this card anyway.

Baby girl card

Hi Everyone

It's been a while since I entered the LIM challenge, but even I was tempted with the sketch this week.

I had won a beautiful page of digi stamps from Whoopsi Daisy a few weeks ago and thought this little baby would suit this sketch.  I used Congratulations from a digi kit Baby Shower by Trina Clark, the check paper comes from the kit too.  I added a white stroke in PS to enable me to cut out the digi with a border and cut it even LOL.  I then 3D'd it onto the bottom onto the check border.  I added a DP paper to the background as I'm not used to too much CAS and to me it "felt" better :)  Hope it's CAS enough.

Rough Sea

Hi Everyone, sorry been absent for a couple of days, but my sciatica has necessitated a few gaps at my desk.  I was a little better on Sunday and as I hadn't been out in the week, decided, before I went stir crazy, to go and see the high tide in the high winds!  We went to Porthcawl a wonderful place where we did quite a bit of our courting! I know an old fashioned word, but that is what it was LOL.

These are not as dramatic as Aberystwyth was or even other parts of the coast earlier this month, but this isn't Spring tide yet.

Here are a few photos of the sea against the harbour wall, both sides close to the lifeboat's slipway.  I was going to take other places along the coast, but my camera battery ran out drat it, AND I had checked it before going out.

Not long after these were taken we had an enormous storm, luckily we had got back into the car, there were hailstones and raindrops that were at least an inch across on the windscreen of the car and of course the high winds, that nearly swept us off our feet earlier.  ENOUGH lets get onto the photos, I'll try and post a card tomorrow.

This was as we arrived, not quite high tide.
Can you see the lady half face in the water with flowing hair?

Here she is again, but out of the water.

Plenty of amateur or even professional photographers wanting to capture the drama

This is the other side of the harbour wall, just by the lifeboat slipway

Tide is definitely higher, we left before we got soaked LOL

Returned to the other side and got this

As the water flows back into the sea from the wall

This is one photographer who is determined no matter what to get his photos, he was OK when we left!

Coronation photo

Hi Everyone, a quick post tonight.  I have been playing with a scrapbook layout of a photo my eldest brother sent me this week.  I haven't seen it for years and years, so I thought a scrapbook page might bring it to life? AND give me a practice of doing a page, not my favourite thing I must admit, don't really know what I'm doing or even supposed to do.

The layout template is by MS Scraps I added a little crown by Gina Jane Johnson to the blue layer. Then recoloured everything else in red, white and blue added a Union Jack behind the photo, The royal photos are from the Royal Collection.

Another black and white.

Hi everyone, not a bad day just a shower or 2, but, with SUN.

In my follower emails today I had 2 which got me excited, so I thought I would use them for my next card.  Shirley, a great person HERE offered a freebie dress which I just loved and had to make a card today with it.  The other was about a blog friend, (hope you don't mind me calling you that Marie, 'cause I know I is  awful cheeky to you LOL)  she has joined the DT HERE.

Anyhow on to my card, it's another B&W, and as the dress is so lovely I kept it a CAS style.  The dress is from Shirley's Templates, the paper is from Pink Petticoat and I think matches the swirls in the dress.  I made a circle and with Atomic cupcake's chalk action in PS I edged it with black and cut it out by hand, added some pearls on wire from Hobbycraft and a little elastic ribbon? that is from stash. Simple! You gotta love the dress :)

I shall enter the following challenges.

Time for a birthday

Hi Everyone, have to tell you we today it has been absolutely persistently raining for a change!!!!!! it rained so hard the water was up to the pavement, (sidewalk).  A perfect day for being at home and playing! in between getting up and walking around and lying down, anyone got any good ideas to get rid of sciatica, I've had it for about 6 weeks now and I'm getting fed up of the pain and restriction of movement, I am willing to do anything, within reason :) to get rid of it.

Anyhow on to my card for today, it's the one I couldn't post yesterday, I'm still not happy after taking it again, I couldn't do better as it has been so dark, but at least it's near enough to the original colours this time.

My niece's husband is now over the 50 mark, poor thing LOL. so I made this card for him if you look the"hands" are pointing to after 5.  The text paper is by Just So Scrappy, the clock paper is one I made myself, from various clock face files I have. I played around in Photoshop to get what I wanted and was happy with it, the tab paper is by Shabby Princess, the clock die is from Free SVG.com, the hands are from i2clipart a freebie which I duplicated to make the clock hands. Have you noticed, they are hands pointing? I added buttons from Papermania and that is my card.  oh! yes! and I cut out the tag with an Xcut die.  Everything printed and layered onto the card.

Late Christmas

Hi Everyone, gotta tell you, we had some SUN today, oh! how lovely it felt, the warmth through the window was like a summer day ahhhhh! trouble was it made me fall asleep, so I missed an hour of it! LOL

Anyhow, my card for today, the card I was going to post came out the most awful colours and no amount of Photoshop would correct it, so I am going back to a card I thought I had posted and it's a Christmas one.  It's a cut file background by Miracle Momma Designs, behind it I made a digi paper by adding lots of snowflakes from files, the angel is by Karens Doodles, I added a square of silver card and digitally coloured and embossed a blue layer with snowflakes cut out some more snowflakes and added them with a ribbon to match and of course the most important lots of glitter :)

I'm not entering any challenges, I expect I'm a little late for Xmas ones LOL.

Black and white

Hi Everyone, hope you have had sun today, still raining here, that is after the frost had melted by about 11.30am.  I suppose that's why the UK is called a green and pleasant land!  (apart from the flooding that is.)

Had a clear out today of "snippets" a huge recycling paper sack full, I have to admit it looks tidier now, even CD's went that I have had since the 90's, they won't work on my present system, why on earth have I kept hold of them?  It was difficult though as my sciatica is really painful today so had to get off the chair, walk, lay down, then attack the snippets again LOL.

Anyhow on to today's card.  I loved the sketch on Bugaboo so made a couple of cards, I'll show the other one tomorrow.  I decided to do a Black and White card for a change, I do love the effect.  So it had to be akvzebra from Bugaboo.  I used Swiss Dots by Pink Petticoat for the background,  I backed it with black card and used some paper I had years and years ago for the horizontal piece. I don't even remember where it came from. I backed the oval shapes with black card and hand cut them out, then added punched flowers from the floral paper and put Perfect Pearls in the centre of them.

This is the sketch

Tie-rific card!

Hi Everyone, from darkest Wales, rain, rain and more rain.  I could do with a view of the sun, oh! well will have to make my own sunshine somehow :)

This little card helps, it's for one of my brother's (the one with MND) it was difficult to think of a theme and thought this would have a double meaning of happy day and healthwise a good day, hope he sees it that way.

I used the ties and paper from a digi kit, I "heart" my Dad by Wishing Well Creations. A simple layout and card, but quite bright I think.  Hope you all have a Tie-rific day :)

There aren't many men's challenges now, but I have found one at Dream Valley Challenge, there are a few anything goes, but I'll stick to just one this time.

Photoshopped photo

Hi Just thought I would add this to today's post, a little experiment of mine to one of the photo's I blogged on the 9th Jan.  Hope you find it interesting.  I think I could have done more to the moon, but for my first try I am quite pleased.

Did you notice on the left, the face in both, that I didn't notice until I had finished recolouring it.

Winter birthday card!

Hi Everyone, hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Mine has pain, from a bad bout of sciatica ugh! I went to a physio drop in centre at the local hospital and they gave me exercises to do 3 of them, 15 times 3 times a day, painful, but hope it will work as I can't sit much, then have to walk, then lay down, just not too much of each, so enjoying my little sit here at the moment.

I see there are a few challenges on the winter theme so thought I would make a winter theme birthday card and here it is.  I used Cold Kaylee by Some Odd Girls, the background paper is by Pixelberrypie, I used a Digi Paper freebie "paisley fabric" by Janet Scott Designs.  I layered Kaylee then embossed the corner of the background with the Cuttlebug Lace tree, before adding Kaylee. I just added a few words for the sentiment.

21st birthday card & pictures

Hi everyone, I will try and be better at blogging and get into it again, anyway here goes for today.

I was asked to make a card for a friends daughter's 21st birthday, it had to include musicals, as each card, for quite a few years, have had the same criteria I was at a loss, then the light went on as I saw this image from KennyK, it is her, so just downloaded a few musical posters added to the card, added a background paper by Pink Petticoat and musical overlay by Marisa Lerin at Pixel Scrapper, coloured the image in PS.  Then cut out the music on staff by Scrapcationgetaway blog and 21 on my Cricut, added roses from Hobbycraft and finished off with lots of glitter, (shame you can't see it), I put it on the musical notes in the border and the cut out music staff.  Glad to say she was thrilled with it.
I'm not adding to any challenge because of the downloaded posters I used.

We went out today in the sunshine, the first we have had it seems for weeks and weeks, cold wind, but oh! so pleasant.  We went on a picture hunt, for me that is. We always went to the sea when the tide was in and it was windy, but, as it has been so bad we haven't this time, so I thought I would catch up with photos of the chaos left by the storms.  We went to the river and it wasn't as high as I have remembered it after storms, we went to the seaside and they had cleared up and there was very little sand still on the road, so I just took a few piccies and a couple of minutes of video which I haven't used on the camera before, because the sun was shining at last.

this is the waterfall from the road it flows under. it's about a 30 - 40 foot drop

Poodle birthday

Happy 2014 Everyone

I am one bad blogger, but I want to thank all visitors to my blog whether you comment or not, it is so wonderful to see that people want to see what I have made, I really appreciate your visit.

I was thrilled to be featured, again, on the Elizabeth Dulemba newsletter, she is asking for Christmas or Winter cards for her gallery, so I have made a card for her gallery and here it is.

Digi stamp Elizabeth Dulemba HERE
Paper, parcels, Bonjour and Eiffel Tower from digikit Frenchy by Olivier

I coloured the poodle in PS, she had to be pink, as when I was younger people used to colour their poodles pink, don't know why, but I followed my memory and did the same LOL.  The Bonjour text and parcels are pre coloured so coloured the scarf and hat to match.  I added text to match also a shadow to the poodle.  I used black card to mount it all on, added a pink bow.  I like it for a wintery birthday hope you do.

I'll enter the following challenges
