T rose

Hi Everyone, I have a scrapbook page and a card today, one for each challenge I am entering, I am using different, but the same, by which I mean, both the same sketch, papers and elements, one challenge allows digital layouts and one doesn't, so did one of each.

The papers and elements are from Dragon Lair Designs monthly Fan Group challenge.

This is the digital layout with a rose from the garden, I love the quote on this which is so true.  I rolled the corner in PS, something I have just learned to do. Teachers report, could do better, but for my first try of doing it this way, I am happy.

This is a card following the same Outlawz sketch and the same papers, but with a ready coloured digi by Dearie Dolls, I changed her wellies to grey to match the papers. I went with the same garden theme. All fussy cut out and layered onto plain card instead of the patterned in the digi one, the corner being ripped, to match the digi ripped corner. Isn't it wonderful how adding different colours changes the look of a paper. Both quotes are from the web.

An Ant!

Hi everyone, my card today is for the Male Room Challenge, I just had to go with the critters or bugs theme and chose a bug!

I followed the sketch dated 2012 and added papers and bugs from a digi kit I had in 2013, Buggin Out by Kristin Aargard at Scraporchard. I love digi kits, everything matches without thinking. LOL.

I added the sentiment to the "ANT" which came from the kit, the ant is 3D'd, I layered all papers onto black card. The dies are Tattered Lace, in my strange thinking, I thought they could be the ant eggs? I also added "eyes" to the ant and the fly.

Seeing I am in the garden with the Ant! I thought I would show you the May tree (Hawthorn) which borders our garden, it stands out from the other trees, with so much blossom this year, so thought I would share it with you. Also the noisy baby Magpie.

Rose frame

Hi Everyone, I had my Cameo out to cut one of Shirley's cut file templates for a change, she generously gives out freebies on her blog and I don't use enough of them. I intended to use this a different way, but it cut out so well I decided to just put some paper behind, Shirley even supplied that in her file, but I wanted dramatic! so used a different one and then it was finished.

I added gems and some metallic wax rub, I have had for years. It has given the black a lovely coloured sheen as you can see in the close up. Sorry the main photo is at an angel, but the straight on one was blurred! and I wanted to get this posted.

A pig

Hi Everyone, a card today with a little character that I love, well I have told you I am a Pig in the Chinese calendar, so piggies are a favourite of mine LOL.

Anyhow, I have followed the Sketch Saturday sketch and also used this fab image Hamlet PigWit in the planter and the sentiment from From the Heart Stamps. I coloured him in PS, then used a PS shape to make the centre circles, I used the Cameo to print and cut them, as well as the corners and a strip of the same colour as the bottom layer shape, to make the border for the corners, which I embossed, then embossed some card to lay them all onto. Nuvo drops to finish around the circle and on the centre flowers, to small to be seen - sorry.

A daffodil girl?

Hi Everyone, the image for the Art by Miran challenge is so appropriate for me, don't you think? I used quite strong colours as they are the colours of Wales and she has a daffodil doesn't she? I followed the Outlawz Sketch Challenge for this week. Great, 2 challenges done in one.

I used some cross stitched embossed card, my SIL got for me, don't know anything more about it, I tried it, as the card I usually colour on isn't that good, and, I think it worked, looks like a canvas. I followed the colours of the Design Seeds FloraPalette_9.

I coloured it with my Spectrum Noire markers and used digi papers by Julie C Designs, the daffodil behind the image has a free overlay by Tracy Wray at Art by Miran. backed with red card. I edged the image with grey marker and fussy cut her out. My colouring has a lot to be desired, but not tooooooo bad? I have added a close up of the image so you can see the card texture, shame about the colours outside the lines!

Thought I would add a few garden piccies, taken at 9am in the morning on what was going to be an awfully wet day.

Dog on scooter birthday

Hi Everyone, another male card, it's for my Great Nephew who lives and works in Sydney, Australia.

I had in my mind a "Par Avion" with an aeroplane on the front, so went looking for an aeroplane in my digi stamp files, I had already done a transport card recently here I knew I had other images and this beauty, Dog on Scooter by Gerder Steiner, jumped up at me.  I thought it perfect for the adventurous young man he is. Goodbye aeroplane hello scooter LOL

I used a template of stripes by Delicious Scraps to make the airmail paper, I duplicated it giving them the red and blue colours, although they are a little faded for some reason, I didn't think it mattered. It was the illusion of the airmail I wanted. The map paper is by Marisa Lerin at PixelScrapper

I used red Stickles for the heart in the birthday sentiment and the other sentiment is by dhariana at Scraporchard, I overlaid red instead of the original colour to match the card, he will be coming home in a few months for his Sister's wedding, that's why I used it.

All done in PS and cut and print on the Cameo for the dog and the arrow. I didn't 3D anything just layered them, as it has to go a long way in the post.

Fairy and kitten

Hi Everyone, Firstly I have to apologise for not commenting on everyone's card. I laid aside a few hours yesterday to catch up, I did a LOT, so much so that Blogger wouldn't let me comment any more, at least not without matching grass pictures etc to prove I wasn't a robot! I had had enough after about the fourth, so decided to mark all as read. I am so sorry. I did flip through the images on Blogger too and I missed some beautiful and funny cards.

Anyhow - No 3 of the 3 in a day cards.

This is for the Outlawz Progressive Challenge, the image is Fifi by Ppinky Dolls, as always all laid out and coloured in PS, I followed the "vintage" colour theme for the challenge at Scrapbook.com.

I dry embossed the background paper, then die cut the shape behind the image and used the waste as corner "buttons", I added 3D gloss to the buttons. The sentiment came from the web. I followed a sketch I had in 2011, sorry don't know where from, just that it has CPS199 as the file name. The curved square shape is from Pixelscrapper, DP's by Dawn by Design. Embossing folder is by Memory Keepers. Die is by Tattered Lace.

Just a note

Hi Everyone, here is the second of the 3 cards I did in one day, something unheard of, for me.

The card is for the Outlawz sketch challenge, I used the Cre8tive progressive challenge image isn't he cute? Then I found out I was too late for the Cre8tive challenge! duh!

I coloured him in PS and laid it all out to print in PS, then fussy cut it out to layer it all. I used a die to help the "with love" message.

Outlawz Sketch Challenge

Thought I would let you see Mum starling feeding one of her 4 babies she brought to the garden this week. I had to take it through the window, hence the reflection of the sofa around them, so I attempted to PS them, not successfully, but a little better.

Motor bike fan

Hi Everyone, nothing produced for a few days and then 3 in one day! Today's is for my Niece's husband. I was told that he has a motor bike in his garage that he looks at longingly, I believe it needs a little work! I decided to look through my files for a motor bike and this fabulous image came up, it suits him, as he is a very young 52 LOL.

Anyway the card! I laid it out following a mojo sketch and coloured him, following the colours of the paper, in PS, then added the paper and layered it on black paper added black Nuvo drops and some 3D gloss on his specs. My SIL came up with the sentiment for me, she had seen it on the web, I think.

Dog Cloud?

Just popping in to show you some clouds I photographed the end of last week.
it reminded me of a dog walking out of the clouds!

We've had some fabulous fluffy clouds of late with beautiful blue skies. Rain last night, I suppose that means that was our Summer, it was good while it lasted LOL.

OK I have to confess -

the one abover is the original cloud and the first cloud had been Photoshopped by me adding a dog shape made into a cloud. If you want to do the same, HERE is where I learnt to do it.

I'm in a wicked mood LOL.

Ironing happiness!

Hi Everyone, I have made my card for 2 challenges today, the first is the Outlawz sketch and the other is Dragon Lair - Women at work! looking through my files I found an image I haven't used in the 10 years I have had it. It's from PC Hugware and no longer available. It's by Laurie Furnell. I changed the colours of the image slightly to match the paper.

I followed the sketch laying it all out in PS, printed and layered and used die cut flowers and glitter glue from Dovecraft for the centres. I found the sentiment on the web, it's sooooooooo true LOL. although hubby does mostly - I do it sometimes!!!!

I notice the glitter glue is drooping, I had only just put it on, so managed to get it back in shape LOL.

Dragon laugh!

HI Everyone, my post today is for Beccy's Blog Challenge It's been a long time since I entered and with her beautiful freebie this month I had to, I included the Dragon from last month as I had wanted to enter and time just went. Where does it go?

Anyhow on to my card, I laid it all out in PS as usual, printed and fussy cut the main images, 3D layered and added another layer of the flowers.

Short post today as I have lots to do, and as it's raining, instead of the beautiful sun they promised, it's craft time LOL. It's a long time since I have nothing scheduled or made, I have a "problem" commission, I've already had my life taken over with it and even told the lady who requested it I couldn't do it, she had made so many requests, I couldn't put it all together, I suppose that's my fault as always trying to make cards really personal. Oh! well back to it, nope she wouldn't let me give up!

Have a great weekend.

Dad's Garden!

Hi Everyone, my card today is for The Male Room Challenge. I saw it had reference to Shakespeare and as I had already done this card, it seemed to match in with the theme.

Shakespeare had a lot to say about gardens and I thought this piece was relevant for the card.

Here's flowers for you;
Hot lavender, mints, savoury, marjoram;
The marigold, that goes to bed wi' the sun
And with him rises weeping: these are flowers
Of middle summer, and I think they are given
To men of middle age.
The Winter's Tale (4.4.122-7)

I made it for hubby's birthday a couple of weeks ago, (although he's older than middle age LOL) my son was ill and couldn't go out to get one, he didn't want me to buy one for him, but wanted me to make one of his choice of images, sentiment and inside verse. I had hoped for him to be well enough to go out, and left it until the last minute! as you do LOL. I chose the simplest CAS card I could find in my sketches file. For some reason I have done a few CAS card recently.

The image is Dr Digi's "Ted and his shed" which is funny as hubby's first name is Edward, although he never uses it.  I coloured the image in PS added a PS stroke effect and cut it out with a circle die. I made a mistake in the size of the underneath papers, but went ahead with it anyway and think it works OK. I embossed all the papers. I 3D glossed the wellies, you have to have shiny wellies don't you? (Wellington boots) and the tools. I added Nuvo drops to the chimney. I added SN marker to the windows as I had forgotten before printing.

I would loved to have added my name to the DT call, but most challenges want hand coloured and my preferred colouring is PS, it limits me a lot, but I love doing hybrid cards.

Butterfly Wishes

Hi everyone, my card today is a late offering for the Art by Mi Ran FB Progressive challenge. Such a beautiful image.

I followed my routine of laying everything out in PS and printing the papers. I coloured her with a mix of my limited colours of Promarkers, except her skin, which I coloured with SN markers, I think they may be running out!!! I added gold glitter pen to the centre of the flowers and a little to the butterfly. I followed the sketch. I added die cut flowers with Nuvo drops in the middle,

Poppy girl

Hi Everyone, my card for you today is for my God Daughters daughter. She is 16 this month and this is the card I have made for her, it follows this weeks Outlawz sketch, I'm not sure if this is poppy overkill, but her name is Poppy (which I I love) and it's a special birthday so I decided to go with it.

I used poppylicious and poppy border by Tiddlyinks  and papers by Julie C Designs "Lest We Forget"

Below is how I laid things out in PS to print, saves a lot of waste ink and paper. I then layered onto black paper, the sentiment is by Imagine that! by Kris, The 16 has been 3D glossed, as has the poppy middles. I used Tonic Crystal drops to add the "bling". I forgot to colour her legs, so coloured them with my SN markers and went over the rest of her skin to match it up.

DSC May - Digital Card

It's time for the Monthly challenge at

the Theme is

Make a Digital Card

sponsored by  Imagine That! by Kris

This month's theme is something I relish, you know me - digi digi digi.

I started by choosing a sketch, always the easiest way to start for me. I copied the shapes and put them into a rectangle, then pasted and clipped digi paper over the shapes. I added the Smiley Sun by Imagine That! by Kris from the Sunny Days kit, giving it a largish shadow to illustrate a 3D effect, lower shadows on the sentiment, bunting and buttons. The rays were "pillow" embossed to separate the rays. I did this in PS, but would imagine that you could do this card in any digital program even Word?

You also know that this is how I start my cards usually, but I came across this blog the other day, which gave me another way to use my digi cards, I thought it was a great idea, that is, to add your digi card to any Facebook birthdays of friends and families. I've done this a few times for my Niece and her family who live in China, where post is difficult, not even thinking of sharing the idea duh! - sorry! except I made the card and added it, when I could have easily just done the digi card. Something I will do next time.

Go on have a go and enter the challenge, you can print it out afterwards :) Use your CD's or Word or other photo editing program. You don't even need to print it out to enter.
